The local village, Parghelia, has some of our favourite restaurants in the area serving up the best of Calabrian cuisine. There are several cafes and shops selling freshly baked bread and local produce. You can pick up breakfast, or a litre of wine, for less than 3 Euros. Parghelia beach is one of the most stunning beaches in the area with powder white sand and crystal clear water.

Only a few minutes away the vibrant town of Tropea awaits you - with so much to experience. You'll want to explore the ancient narrow streets where you'll discover a restaurant, bar or boutique around every corner. You can take a stroll around the port and enjoy an icecream. Or you can relax and people watch on the busy local beach.

If you want to experience even more of Southern Italy there are a multitude of trips and activities to consider. Visit one of the 70+ beaches on the coastline or venture inland where the air is cooler and explore one of the beautiful clifftop villages. Stromboli volcano and Sicily are just a few hours away and offer a memorable day trip or overnight stay.

Nothing beats swimming in the clear blue waters of the award winning local beaches and with over 70 to choose from you'll be spoiled for choice. If you want a more adventurous experience then we recommend:
